I have a bad feeling this would be similar to PVU: PVP burn mechanism. I have no problem with their burning mechanism, however, the problem is the imbalance over NFT usage, card drops, and the crafting requirements.
PVU recently made changes that is not rewarding at all. The number of NFTs you need to use to gain drops to be used to craft new NFTs is not worth it.
I hope you check out other games' math and take note of PVU's mistakes.
